About Wendy Carria, M.A., N.C.S.P.

I received my Master of Arts degree in School Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I have worked in public schools for over 15 years, and currently serve in a local school system as a psychologist specialist. In the public schools, I have been a school-based psychologist, as well as a district-wide specialist providing staff development, parent education, Section 504 administrative support, and various other duties to facilitate the provision of mental health services to students.

In addition, I maintain a private practice as a licensed school psychologist. In this setting, I provide evaluations to clients from preschool through college age. I have had the opportunity to gain an excellent working knowledge of special education regulations and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as applied in public schools. I enjoy working with students and families in a compassionate and professional manner as they face a wide variety of challenges.

In private practice, I focus primarily on psychological evaluations. I complete assessments for children with potential learning disabilities, developmental delays, ADHD, or other social/emotional concerns. I am experienced with the process of applying for services and accommodations within the public schools, with the College Board (for SAT and AP exams), and with various colleges and universities.
